A dual pump system ensures constant emergency back up. In the event of a failure of one pump the other will
automatically take over. This then allows the faulty pump to be removed for repair or servicing without interrupting the
operation of the water supply. Under normal conditions when demand is low, only one pump will start up
(lead pump) and the second pump (lag pump) will cut in if demand increases significantly. The lead/ lag operation
automatically switches from one pump to the other at each start up. This ensures both pumps are constantly
tested for correct operation and the work load is equally shared.
