The Single Tank System
The PURATEK sewage treatment plant is designed to give best results on a continuous basis by using similar technology to that incorporated in municipal sewage farms. The single tank system, which contains all the compartments necessary to the process,is the most cost efficient manner in which to manufacture and install a sewage treatment plant.
The shell is manufactured from HD reinforced polyethylene to give maximum chemical resistance and to ensure the highest possible level of containment.
The chamber design is well proven. Access extensions are available to a depth of 500mm. They are designed for pedestrian loading but can be incorporated into a light traffic area if reinforced and supported. All components are contained within the vessel except the compressor which should be sited in a convenient position within 15 metres fo the treatment plant. A suitable locking kiosk is available as an optional extra.

Three Stage Unit - The Process
The PURATEK system consists of two treatment chambers within the main receiving chamber. The first is an aeration chamber incorporating bio-media. The aeration chamber is fed from the receiving chamber via a four-inch diameter draft tube. Air is released at the bottom of the aeration chamber via one 12 inch diameter (610 model) or two 9 inch diameter (1015 model) micro-perforated diffuser(s). The diffused air rises amongst thebio-media creating an upward flow of processed fluid and ensures continuous and complete mixing of oxygen with the sewage thus ensuring the growth of various aerobic organisms that biologically degrade the waste water contaminants.
As raw sewage enters the aeration chamber, it displaces biological solids from the aeration compartment to the clarifier. Quiescent conditions in the clarifier allow the digested solids to settle to the bottom and treated effluent flows slowly up through the clarifier and over a weir at the point of discharge. The effluent passes out of the weir where it discharges through a 110mm pipe connection.
*Optional 500 mm deep access extensions available
